Western Demons 2010 Objectives

The following objectives for 2010 have been agreed by the committee of the Western Demons - these will provide fundamental guidance for our group activities in 2010:

 

  Conduct pre-game Friday night function when Melbourne travels to Perth during 2010

  Conduct post-game function when Melbourne travels to Perth for NAB pre-season competition

  Coordinate on casual basis venues that will enable local Melbourne supporters to watch and support the Demons play whenever their games are telecast on free to air or Foxtel television

  Develop new and innovative ways to raise funds to support our local members and the operations of the Western Demons given the poor past patronage to our usual fundraisers such as the annual raffle

  Assist the Melbourne Football Club and the operations of the football department by a monetary contriibution towards a specific agredd project for the year.  The contribution made will be based upon the ability of the Western Demons to raise adequate funds locally, and with the expectation that any donation made receives due recognition through the Melbourne Football Club of the efforts in supporting the specific project

  Finalise the 2009 objective of funding the netting at Casey Fields to the agreed value of $10000.00

  Coordinate the ticketing for the Melbourne game that will be played in Perth during 2010, ensuring that our local and interstate visitors are seated together

  Continue to develop the network of past players and families of the Melbourne Football Club who reside in Western Australia

  Further develop the Western Demons website to offer a greater range of information and history of both the Western Demons and the Melbourne Football Club and its players

  Assist the Melbourne cheer squad when Melbourne travel to Perth to play

  Recognise the assistance of the West Coast Cheer Squad (Peter Rosman) for his assistance with the Melbourne banner on Perth match days

  Conduct the annual Western Demons Football tipping competition that requires the total season’s selections to be made.  Entry for this year’s competition to be via official entry form submitted by return mail

  To evaluate the possibility of an Internet based format to run the footy tipping competition in 2011

  Conduct the annual Western Demons supporters photo competition via our website

  Establish in conjunction with MFC an up to date directory of W.A. members’ addresses and key contact details

  To establish a Facebook page targeted towards and to increase younger membership of the Western Demons and the football club

  Continue to advertise the sale of MFC numberplates in our monthly Newsletter and via website

2010 Footy Tipping Comp Now Open!

The Western Demons 2010 Footy Tipping Competition is up and running for another year, and all members and friends are invited to join in and pit your predictive footy skills against the rest of us.

The entry form is located at the foot of this note, and it also contains detailed rules and instructions on the comp, but here's a brief summary:

• Cost per entry is $10.00, unlimited entries per person.
• You must tip the entire home-and-away season in advance to constitute a valid entry.
• All entries together with payment must be received at the address nominated on the form on or before the closing date of Friday 19th March.
• Progress scores will be posted throughout the season on this website and will also be mentioned during weekly updates of the WD Newsline.
