NAB Pre-Season Cup - TV Functions

The Western Demons have arranged to meet at the Mighty Quinn Tavern, 112 Wanneroo Road, Yokine, on the following dates and times, to watch the Dees as they participate in the newly-structured NAB Cup competition in 2012.

Week 1, Dees not participating

Week 2, Sat 25th Feb - Melb, Brisbane & Gold Coast round robin - WA game time 4.10pm

Week 3, Sat 3rd Mar - Melb v Collingwood, MCG - WA game time 4.40pm

Week 4, Sat 10th Mar - Melb v Hawthorn, MCG - WA game time 2.40pm

Hoping to see you there, as we kick off the 2012 footy season, as usual full of promise and expectation!!

"Picture This" Photo Comp - Open Again in 2012!

The Western Demons once again invite you to participate in a fun competition aimed at finding the most interesting or original photo of a Dees supporter while travelling, in Australia or around the world, on holidays or business, and taken at some notable or exotic location that may or may not be related to MFC or AFL footy for that matter.

The idea is, next time you are about to travel, remember to pack some of your Melbourne clothing, or a Demons flag perhaps, and when you come across an interesting location or situation, get someone to take a photo of you proudly displaying your red-and-blue colours, then send the selected photos to the Western Demons email address so as they can be posted on our website for all to see how committed you are to supporting our great team.  At the end of the year, the WD Committee will select the most interesting or original photo(s) to receive a small award.

"Picture This" Photo Comp - 2011 Winner

The winner of the Western Demons 2011 Photo Competition was announced at the AGM on 22nd January, 2012, and this year the gong goes to Mark Swiderski, who made the intrepid journey to the South Pole just so as he could qualify for our competition!! While he was there, he also attended the 100^th Anniversary of Mawson’s expedition to the South Pole, a commemoration that was attended by 100 people including the Norwegian Prime Minister.

Congratulations Mark on being our worthy winner for 2011!!

Western Demons 2011 AGM - Invitation

   Our AGM for 2011 will be held on 22nd January 2012, you're very welcome to come along and hear about our achievements in 2011, and get the early mail on our plans for 2012.  Also we're always on the lookout for new blood on the committee and people prepared to do a bit extra here in WA to help the Dees' cause, so why not consider nominating for a position on the committee.  No pressure, but if you are keen, please fill out the attached nomination form and return it asap to the address given on the form.

3D Radio Signs Off for 2011

The Western Demons smash "3D Radio" weekly chat show on 91.3 Sport FM has reluctantly signed-off for 2011.

Having arguably redefined the AFL radio commentary & talkback landscape in WA, 3D Radio is likely to make a triumphant return in 2012, so 3D junkies can breath a deep sigh of relief.

To our emerging superstar panel headed by Iain "Tassie Boy" Fisher, and supported by Roger "The Boss" Wingate, Ian "Mad Minute" Mills, Tim "The Twitter" Mahon, and Greg "Brains" Harper, our thanks for your collective efforts, preparation and enthusiasm in getting the show established and to air every week during the 2011 season.

As mentioned, we expect that the show will be back bigger and better in 2012, and the Western Demons would love to hear from members who would be prepared to assist with sponsoring the show in 2012.  Interested members should contact Roger on 0407-429325 who can provide further details.
